The state of Texas offers a transportation system through the Texas Department of Transportation called the Medical Transportation Program. This service was designed for those who are enrolled in Medicaid and have a need for transportation assistance between home and their medical treatments. How can I receive Home Health Services?
Anyone can make a request for home health care as long as it is validated by their physician. If a patient feels as if they need home health care, it is ultimately their choice as to which agency they will go with. If you or someone you know has had a good experience with
an agency, be sure to tell your physician or discharge planner of the hospital who you would like to take care of you. The criteria to receive home health care is that you must be home bound and have a condition that requires a need for skilled nursing or therapy.
